This policy explains what personal data Sweepstake League collects, how we use it, and your rights over it.
Sweepstake League is operated by Sweepstake League Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17422079), registered office Sterling House 2b, Fulbourne Road, London, England, E17 4EE ("we", "us"). We are the data controller for the personal data described here and are registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). You can contact us about any privacy matter at contact@sweepstakeleague.com.
We do not collect payment information, postal addresses, phone numbers, or any special-category data. We do not sell your personal data.
We will only send you marketing emails about Sweepstake League (news, new features and offers) if you have opted in — for example by ticking the marketing box when you create your account. You can withdraw consent and stop marketing at any time, with no effect on your ability to use the service, by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by emailing contact@sweepstakeleague.com. We do not share your details with third-party advertisers for their own marketing.
We use the following service providers, who act as our data processors under written data processing terms and only process your data on our instructions:
Some providers (Netlify and Resend) are based in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or the UK–US Data Bridge. Live football scores are provided by football-data.org; no personal data is sent to them.
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep your data safe, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, access controls, and storing sensitive keys server-side only. No online service can be guaranteed completely secure, and you also play a part in keeping your account safe (see "Your account and email security" in the Terms of Use).
We keep your account and league data while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your associated personal data from the live database. Some information may remain in backups for a limited period before being overwritten.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to: access your data; have it corrected; have it erased; restrict or object to its processing; data portability; and to withdraw consent (for marketing) at any time. To exercise any of these, email contact@sweepstakeleague.com and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
Sweepstake League is intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.
We want Sweepstake League to be usable by as many people as possible and aim to follow good accessibility practice. If you have difficulty using the site or need information in another format, contact us at contact@sweepstakeleague.com and we'll do our best to help.

These terms are a legal agreement between you and Sweepstake League Ltd governing your use of Sweepstake League. By using the service you accept them.
Sweepstake League is a score-tracking platform for friendly football sweepstakes. Teams are drawn randomly and points are calculated automatically from official match results.
We are not a gambling operator. The platform does not hold, process, or transfer money or prizes of any kind. Any stakes, entry fees, or prizes arranged between members of a league happen entirely outside this platform, and each league's organiser is responsible for ensuring their arrangement complies with the laws that apply to them (in Great Britain, for example, the "work lottery" and "private society lottery" rules of the Gambling Act 2005).
Your account is accessed by a secure login link sent to your email address (or by a password, if you set one). Because of this, keep your email account secure — anyone with access to your inbox could request a login link and access your account. Login links are time-limited and intended for one-time use; league invite links expire after 30 days. Please tell us promptly at contact@sweepstakeleague.com if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. We are not responsible for losses arising from your failure to keep your email account or password secure.
We rely on third-party email delivery and cannot guarantee that login links, invites or other emails will arrive, or arrive promptly — they may be delayed or filtered as spam. We are not liable for undelivered or delayed emails.
The service only lets you enter limited text, such as your display name, league names and participant names. You must not:

If you opt in, we may send you marketing emails about Sweepstake League. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any such email or by contacting us; opting out does not affect your account or your use of the service. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy above.
Match results, standings and points are sourced automatically from third-party football data feeds. We aim for accuracy but cannot guarantee feeds are error-free or uninterrupted, and league standings have no monetary value on this platform.
The Sweepstake League platform — including its code, design, layout, graphics, and the "Sweepstake League" name and logo — is owned by Sweepstake League Ltd or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service for your own non-commercial sweepstakes. You may not copy, resell, adapt, or reverse-engineer the platform.
Not affiliated: Sweepstake League is an independent product of Sweepstake League Ltd and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by UEFA, the UEFA Champions League, any football club, or any competition organiser. All club names, competition names and related trademarks are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification only. Match data is provided by the football-data.org API.
The service is provided "as is" and, currently, free of charge. We do not warrant that it will be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose, and we may change, suspend or withdraw all or part of it at any time.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law of England and Wales.
Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law: we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, loss of profits, data or goodwill, or for disputes between sweepstake participants, data-feed errors, or downtime; and our total liability to you arising from the service is limited to £100 (or, as the service is provided free of charge, to the amount you have paid us, which may be nil).
You may close your account at any time by contacting us, and we will delete your associated personal data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your account or access to the service if you breach these terms, misuse the service, or attempt to access others' data, and (if we discontinue the platform) on reasonable notice. On termination your right to use the service ends, and leagues you own may become inaccessible to their members.
If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. These terms are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the service. You may not transfer your account or your rights under these terms to anyone else; we may transfer our rights and obligations (for example on a sale of the business), provided this does not adversely affect your rights.
These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the service, are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
We may update these terms and policies; the "last updated" date above will change when we do, and we will re-seek consent where the law requires it. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
